MyPCBackUp Review

These guys are alright. Few add-ons I thought would be part of the service but overall a good product that does what it says. If you want a ton of features though I might choose another company

Zip Cloud Review

Good company, unlimited backup. Load times can occionally be slow though. I read they switched to newer, safer servers. Wonder if that has anothing to do with IT

SugarSync Review

Good review – here are a few ecrent changes as of June 2011:You get 5GB of cloud storage space with the FREE version, but now there is no restriction to the number of computers you can sync/backup (up from 2).It gives you the ability to upload and sync any folder on your computer. It is the only service that offers such a broad device and OS support with apps for BlackBerry, Android, iPhone/iPad, Symbian, not to mention your computer! You can also stream MP3 music files to your smartphone or computer. Also if you use the below referral code you get a bonus 500MB extra on top of your Free 5GB!Hope it helps someone.

DropBox Review

You've raelly impressed me with that answer!

JustCloud Review

This is one of the easiest services I have used, ever. What else is there to say?

iDrive Review

yes and no.You can run 2 copies as long as you cnaghe the settings for each to install to different pats or folders of the hard drive and that the settings are so that each version only reads from its database. Usually during startup you can select advanced settings and there you should be able to cnaghe the destination folder for each program

LiveDrive Review

this is the worst service i have ever signed up for in my life. DO NOT WATSE YOUR MONEIES

iBackUp Review

If you formatted with no ukacbp then your work is as good as lost. You might be able to pay someone to recover your work with specialised software but this will be time consuming and expensive.

ElephantDrive Review

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD THE STORY OF THE ELEPHANTS THAT STOLE BOOZE FROM A LOCAL TOWN? THEY WERE TALKING ABOUT THESE DUDES HAHAHA THEIR SERVICE IS TERRIBAD! DO NOT WASTE YOUR STOLEN, WORTHLESS DOLLARS ON THIS WORTHLESS SERVICE. I came to this conclusion because their customer service is like talking to a bunch of drunken monkeys. Seriously people, do some research.

Mozy Review

There are three main problems with biackng up to an external hard drive. First and foremost remembering to do the backup. Second, copying files to an external hard drive, doesn't allow you to recover files versions from a particular point in time (for example, restoring a document back to how it looked a week ago). There are ways to accomplish this with an external hard drive, but it would require using some backup software.Third, you should think about the what happens if the house catches on fire scenario. Having some part of your backup strategy to include offsite storage is a good thing. As far as which folder to backup, I suggest (and mozy defaults to) the My Documents folder. Of course, that presumes that that is the folder where you store your important documents. You can also throw a relatively small amount of money at mozy and they will do all your files. As far as security goes mozy has you covered. Your data is encrypted before it is transmitted. It's a good strategy. And finally, I gotta say, that your proposed new category of people really boils down to those that *will* wish they had !
